No doubt you have heard about Juicing. Maybe you are already Juicing? Perhaps you are one of those who are yet to be convinced or doesn't know exactly how to go about it. This section of the website is dedicated to what I believe is one of the very best things you can do for you health- whatever you diet.
"Juicing fresh fruits and vegetables is
one of the best ways to boost your nutrient
in take and supercharge your health..."
Most of us simply don't eat enough raw fresh fruits and vegetables. Our bodies crave the vitamins, minerals, phytochemicals and nutrients and enzymes in the quantities that are only found in raw fruits and vegetables. When we juice these, in effect we concentrate the nutrients found in a large volume of fruit and vegetables that we ordinarily wouldn't eat- so what we get in a class of Juice like this, is a concentrated nutritional infusion that is readily and easily digested by your body. Simply put- one class of juice like this has more nutrients in it than 3 days worth food eaten on a standard western diet.
Here are some reasons why you should Juice:
An easy way to get the you fruits and veggies in! Most of us simply don't eat enough fresh raw fruits and vegetables and Juicing helps insure you get your daily quota. We have all heard about '5 a day' how about 15 a day!
Energy! This should be reason enough for most of us. Would like more energy? Do you struggle to get out of bed in the morning or do you suffer from the dreaded mid day slump? Do you find that periods of brain fog slow you down and prevent you from working at your best?
Studies done at Wake Forest University found that those drinking a class of fresh beetroot juice increased the blood flow to the brain which in turn increased their mental performance. Studies also showed that drinking fresh beetroot juice lowered your chances of suffering from various forms of dementia. Millions are being spent in medical research to come up with a drug to combat dementia, wouldn't it be ironic if something so simple as a glass of vegetable juice provided an answer?
Beauty. How much money do people spend on cosmetics so that they can look beautiful. When you think about it what they are really trying to achieve isn't it to look healthy- clear skin, red lips, bright eyes all give the impression of health. The reality though is that health comes from the inside out. When we improve our nutrient intake and at the same time hydrate our cells (which is exactly what juicing does!) then our skin improves, eyes brighten, hair improves and so on. Many in Hollywood and the film industry are now catching on to this and many celebs are swapping their Botox injections for Juicers.
Weight Loss. Juicing is one of the best ways I know to loose those extra pounds. I lost over 4 stone (25 kilos) in a year just by replacing one of my regular meals with a Juice and keeping an eye on my fat intake. Most of us eat far too much fat, for example in the UK the average percentage of calories consumed from fat is about 50% instead of the healthy and recommended 10%. When you replace one of your daily meals with a juice you are thus reducing your fat intake; also at the same time giving your body more nutrition. By replacing just one meal with a juice you are making a huge difference to your health and one that shows almost instant results! I don't recommend replacing more than one meal a day with a juice but rather use juicing as a way to supercharge your nutrient intake thus lowering hunger pangs as well as at the same time lowering your daily fat intake. Remember; "...the fat you eat is the fat you wear."
Live Longer! Nutritional Science has established that if we consume plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables then we drastically reduce our chances of falling prey to heart disease, diabetes or cancer. Studies have proven that those with a high fruit and vegetable intake live longer- what easier way to increase your fruit and vegetable intake than by juicing!

"I believe that taking just 10 minutes a day to make yourself a freshly made Juice is one of the best investments in yourself that you can make!"
One of the biggest mistakes we can make...
is comparing the so called 'pure' juice you might find in a cartoon in your local supermarket to something you can
make yourself with a juicer. The difference is literally live or dead- no seriously it is! The fact is that everything that comes from a supermarket out of a carton or jar has been pasteurised (boiled) it's the law. When ever you heat fruits and vegetables above 118 degrees Fahrenheit then the enzymes within the food are destroyed as well as some of the vitamins and minerals. The problem with that is that we need those enzymes, vitamins and minerals to help us get the best out of that food. When we eat Raw fresh fruits and vegetables we get all the vitamins, all those minerals and the enzymes that help us utilise them. The other problem with processed Juices is oxidisation- basically the longer a food is left before being consumed the more it begins to oxidise which basically means it begins to break down. When you make and consume fresh juice you minimise that happening.
" I just haven't got the time..."
Really? How long does it actually take to prep your produce, juice and then drink it and then clean the juicer? Less than 10 minutes! Don't believe me- watch this video [video] If you are that busy that you don't have 10 minutes a day to juice well- your just too busy!
Making time for what matters!
The fact is that we always make time for the things we want to do, TV, computer etc... However, when it comes to changing a habit or adding an element to our life that challenges us like exercise or improving our diet, strangely we often find we haven't got the time? The problem is rarely if ever not having the time, the problem is almost invariably not wanting to make the time. There is a saying; "Change meets resistance..." which basically means that whenever we decide to make a change in our life we naturally experience a bit of resistance, usually from ourselves! Why? Because simply put, most of our habitual behavior is controlled by our subconscious mind and whenever we seek to make a change it tries to bring us back on track. Habitual behavior is like a well worn path- easy to go down! When we change a bad habit for a good one it's like creating a whole new path while at the same time allowing the old one to grow over. Two things are needed here for success - persistence & time, so stick with it!
Results lead to success!
If you start a daily Juicing programme you notice immediate results ,once you experience those benefits they will spur you on to make it a life-long habit
Keep Yourself Motivated
Information is one thing- inspiration is everything! Knowing that you should juice every day and that it is good for you isn't enough to keep you doing it, you need motivation. Therefore motivate yourself by watching juicing recipes, videos, documentaries on health, read books and talk to other like minded people.
Tell others about what your doing and the reasons why- they say; "If you want to remember something teach it..." Expression deepens impression. By doing all these things you will be building up an irresistible force that will compel you towards your goal and ultimately success!
Frequently asked questions:
Q: I heard that fruit juices contain too much sugar and that isn't good for us right?
A: It is true that fruit juices contain sugar and by juicing those fruits you have removed the fiber and that makes the sugar more readily available. However, the evidence shows that sugar is rarely the problem when it comes to health but rather fat. When we consume too much fat and sugar together that's when we run into problems. Also I recommend no more than one large glass of pure fresh fruit juice a day, also I recommend making fruit & vegetable juices like for spinach & apple or beetroot & apple, always try to get those greens in!
Q: Doesn't juicing remove the fiber which is supposed to be good for us right?
A: Yes it does and ideally we would be best to eat all those veggies that go into a large glass of juice- but most of us won't! Even though juicing removes the fiber most of the nutrients from the fruits & vegetables are retained in the juice and as Jay Kordich say's- "It's the juice of the fiber that feeds ya!"
Q: Can I make the juices and store them in the fridge?
A: Yes, freshly extracted juices will keep in the fridge for 1-2 days but you will notice some separation so just give them a stir.
Q: Can you freeze them?
A: Yes, however freezing does effect the quality of the juice in my experience, as with most things it is a compromise.
My advice is to find just 10 minutes a day in your schedule to make it fresh if you can.
Q: Which Juicer is best for me?
A: I cover that topic on my Youtube channels click here: [link]
Q: What about blending & smoothies- aren't they better because they keep the fiber?
A: I cover this topic on my Youtube channel click here: [link]
Q: Does it always need to be organic produce?
